Friday the 13th! Link Love

So this week I took some time off from blogging – and depending on how life goes this weekend, I may take some more off next week too. This post from Katy Widrick is why I will not say I’m sorry….

MCM Mama was looking for her muse this week, and so was I! She managed to de-clutter her house while looking for hers…. I need to try that next, all I’ve done is gone looking in craft bins and on book shelves. ;)

Apparently, lots of us have taken little mini breaks recently… Callie at the WannaBe Athlete also has lost her mojo. She’s lost her baby weight, run 2 half marathons… so what’s next? I understand that – weight maintenance has been hard for lots of reasons. Fitness goals? Well, there’s a reason I’m doing a Half Ironman this year, it keeps me motivated!

Emily has lost her weight loss direction – but is OK with that! Sometimes that happens too – it took me 4 years to lose my 100+ pounds, not because I lost and gained a lot, but because 40 pounds into it, I just stopped for a while. When I was ready, I started again. :)

Slow down. Those two words sum up this lengthy post by yoga teacher Andrew Gurvey – how much of life do we miss because we are in too much of a hurry getting “there” to enjoy the journey? And just where is “there” anyway? Definitely thought provoking.

A few weeks ago I posted about Rebecca’s charity challenge for the Easter Weekend; this post is her wrap up of how she did for her challenge. I both cycled and ran that weekend, but Rebecca did all three – swim-bike-run! Good on you, girl!

I’m wrapping this up with a tough post about one man’s battle with cancer – I love reading Susan’s posts on No Meat Athlete, and the story of her friend Carlos has been heart breaking. Thanks for sharing an update, Susan!

Goals: I read, I did some crochet, I got my workouts in. A good week. I’m almost rested up!

Weekend goals:

1. Long bike
2. Long run
3. Visit family

Thanks for the link-up love, I love finding other bloggers to read! It’s also nice to see individual encouragement; the blog world is really lacking in that sometimes.

I like to do it once a week – it allows me to share things I like! I wish other bloggers would do it too, sometimes it’s hard tp find good new blogs, and you get stuck in a reading rut!

Thank you for sharing links! Off to check them out :D

Sometimes taking time off from blogging to get other stuff done is important.

Thanks for sharing the links – Glad you liked Andrew’s article :)

It’s been a struggle to stay caught up lately, but I’m trying! Andrew’s article was amazing, which is why I had to share it. His articel is one of the reasons I chose to step back from blogging this week. :)

I love that post by Andrew Gurvey. It really hits home for me. Too often people find the long journey of weight loss and healthy to difficult & tedious and therefore they don’t commit to it. I used to think that way as well. Just this week I read a blog where the author said she was really enjoying the process of losing weight. She’s celebrating a lot of NSV’s, enjoying new clothes and finding strength in her decision to stay in control. It is so important to find joy in the journey. Otherwise, it would be just too easy to give up.

It is so hard to keep going sometimes, and even once you get there, what motivates you to stay there? Maintenance is not easy either! Andrew’s article really reminded me to enjoy the process. :)
