Friend Makin’ Mondays – Travel

If you’ve taken part in FMM then you know the rules. If you’re new, please take a moment to answer this week’s question on your own blog then add your link in the comments section here at: so we can all see your FMM questions and answers. Please invite your blog readers to add their links here too so everyone has to opportunity to be seen. The idea is to connect with other awesome bloggers so take a moment to post your own FMM post and comment on a couple of other posts. Now it’s time for this week’s topic!

FMM: Travel

1. Where did your most recent trip take you? Orlando Florida
2. Is there a place that you’d like to visit that you haven’t yet? If so, where? So many places! Europe, New Zealand, Australia…
3. Do you travel lightly, or do you cram as much into your luggage as possible? I always wind up packing too much…
4. Do your eating and exercise habits change when you travel? If so, how? I tend to fall off the wagon when I travel, not exercising enough, eating too much.
5. Tell us about a place you’ve been that you’d like to go back to. Las Vegas – we’re going again in May for my birthday. I love it there!
6. Do you prefer to travel at a certain time of year? I prefer to travel to warm locations in the winter when it’s cold here!
7. If you had to choose, would you go to the beach or the mountains? Beach. I love the mountains, but give me a hot sandy beach….
8. Have you ever needed a passport to travel? Yes, every time I go to the States! Must get mine renewed before our May trip…
9. Do you collect anything in your travels? Not really – I bring home things, but I don’t collect anything specific.
10. Where do you plan to go next? Vegas in May, Wisconsin in July.

Now it’s your turn! Don’t forget to come back to share a link in the comments!

Ooh, I’m from Wisconsin! Where are you going there this summer? I love going there in the summer — same theory as why you like travelling in the winter, during the summer here I love to escape to somewhere cool!

    • Kris says:

We’re going to do Ironman 70.3 Racine on July 15. I haven’t been to Wisconsin for years, so I’m looking forward to it! My parents winter in Texas to avoid the cold, then come back home every April – best of both worlds!

      • Carina says:

Ooh, that’s right. I remember reading about your IM plans in Racine. My grandma used to have a little gourmet shop in Racine, and my grandparents lived there all the time I remember them. I wish my parents would winter down here in Texas, but I like getting my week of Wisconsin snow at Christmas.

Looking forward to exploring your blog further. Stopping in from FMM. Your triatholon goal is inspiring.

    • Kris says:

Thanks for reading! I love the title of your blog… it took me 18 months to learn to love running. It takes a long time, but it CAN happen! 🙂

  3. PlumPetals says:

I’ve never been to Vegas — hopefully on my next trip to the States! 🙂

    • Kris says:

This will be Bruce’s first trip – I’m so excited! I love it, I’ve been twice before. 🙂 Disneyland for grown ups!

  4. Bella says:

I completely agree with you about the beach – I need to be able to see the sandy shores every so often just to feel “right,” but I’m lucky because the Pacific Ocean is just a 45-min drive away. In fact, I think you just inspired me to make a trip there this week, while I’m off.

Vegas will be a blast! I’m heading there in August, although choosing May is much smarter in terms of weather.

    • Kris says:

I wish I lived that close to a beach! I live in the absolute dead centre of North America – landlocked on all sides! I’m hoping it is hot when we’re in Vegas. I was there one year at the end of June, and it was SO hot – I loved it!

  5. Jolene says:

Thanks for stopping by my blog for FMM!

ohhh, Florida, Vegas….I’m jealous! Never been to Florida and only driven through Vegas with a brief stop overnight and a quick little Star Trek experience and few coins in a slot machine….would love to truly experience Vegas one day! Maybe for the honeymoon that is almost 15 years overdue lol.

    • Kris says:

I hear you – this is actually our honeymoon – 12 years after the fact! We never had one either. 🙂

  6. Tim says:

Can I come to Vegas with you????? LOL!

It’s always somewhere I want to go but it’s so expensive to fly there from here. Make sure you take lots of pictures for me to be jealous over!!

    • Kris says:

I promise lots of pictures! I’ve been before, but Bruce never has – I can’t wait to show him everything. It really is a very fun city. 🙂

  7. Cheryl says:

Stopping by from FMM to say hey to another Canuck!

We did Orlando in October and hit up the whole tourist trap that is Disney. Whew was THAT ever expensive! I really want to go to Vegas this year… just have to book those tickets and just DO IT!

    • Kris says:

Disney was definitely a very expensive trip, but it was a once in a lifetime trip for us as a family, so we ate the cost with a smile. Vegas will be just the two of us, and I can’t wait!

      Thanks for stopping by!
