Ok not the best picture, but that is the confirmation email from Ironman Mont Tremblant… we’re going to Quebec next August, where I will become an Ironman!! (Bruce too – he insisted 😛 )
We pulled the trigger, we paid the race fees, we’ll figure the logistics out later, but we’re doing this.
Why? (Aside from the fact I really, really want to?) Well, a few reasons. Last week, I had a conversation with Bruce. I finally realized that just because he didn’t feel ready to do an Ironman next season, that he wanted to do three 70.3 races instead, didn’t mean I couldn’t do one on my own. The original plan was to go to Quebec in June, and do the Mont Tremblant 70.3 – I figured I’d sign up for the Wisconsin Ironman in September (Not my first choice race, but close to home, not too expensive to travel to, etc.). So I told him this on Saturday… at which point he said “no way”. If I was doing one, so was he…. and we’d both rather do IMMT than IMWI. Then we found out IMMT 70.3 was sold out anyway – so no trip to Quebec in June anyway!
So guess what? We’re going to Quebec in August instead. 🙂 And I’m going to hear Mike Reilly say
“Kristine Thompson, you are an Ironman”!!!!
Goals update: 1 blog post. 1 P90X workout. Meal plan? Sort of… I know what we’re having for dinner for the next two nights. Life has been bonkers as I adjust to my new job (which is going well!)
