July is here, and the heat is fabulous, even if it makes running a challenge. I’ll admit – ever since I lost my weight, I’m cold ALL. THE. TIME. I’m loving this heat and am in no mood to see it go away. 🙂
Why do we run (or do triathlon, or really, any difficult physical challenge)? Brandon at I Run Alaska nails it – he runs because it is hard. Yes, that’s part of it. I wouldn’t do this if it was easy.
I had to include this post. Callie talks about Dressing Rooms Wars… have you ever had a meltdown in a dressing room? I totally have, and often still do every time I have to buy bras and bathing suits! Even at goal, excess skin and saggy EVERYTHING means needing extra support and underwire. Try finding THAT in the smaller sizes I need now! 🙁
All this week DC Rainmaker has been posting about the Tour de France – because he and his wife now live there! Bruce & I have been watching it, and can’t get over how amazingly talented these cyclists are – and how colourful their race kits are!
I discovered FitKnitChick’s blog through Christie at Average Mom’s Wear Capes, and this week, Tamara wrote a wonderful post about the difference between weight loss and weight maintenance. Having been in maintenance mode for over two years now, I know what she writes is true – exercise is KEY to maintaining weight loss.
I haven’t linked back to Katy’s blog in a while, but I really connected to this post on The Busy Trap. People always ask me how I manage to juggle everything, how I make time for my workouts, etc. Yes, I’m busy. But I choose to be busy, and I’m busy doing things I enjoy with people who matter to me. I swim, bike, run with Bruce. I bake cookies and play at the lake with my sons. Sometimes, I even spend time with other friends (gasp!). Life is busy, but I’m having fun.
It is now 5:00 am and time to head for bed!
Goals update: I got everything done except cleaning the end table. So I’m pretty happy.

6. Read 3 chapters of nutrition book
