Weekly Update – April 23, 2011

1 more week to my first race!!

This week I started running outside. My first run left me a little demoralized and freaked out that I’d wind up crawling across the finish line next week! BUt then next two each got better, and I think with a couple more I’ll be doing OK. I may not break 2 hours like I hoped, but I’m going to sign up for another race at the end of May and hope to break 2 hours there if I am not successful next weekend. And really, anything under 2:15 is a huge improvement for me! 🙂

Ugh – no swim this week

Running:

2011/04/20 – 5.0 miles in 51:08 (outside)
2011/04/22 – 10.0 miles in 1:36:49 (outside)
2011/04/23 – 5.0 miles in 46:58 (outside)

Cycling:

2011/04/18 – 10.0 miles in 37:40 (indoors)
2011/04/21 – 7.0 miles in 43:48 (outside)
2011/04/23 – 10.0 miles in 32:58 (indoors)

Hot Yoga

No yoga either. 🙁

In the end, the week ended well, even though I dropped workouts again. I’m not sure when (if??) things are going to get better, but since my primary focus this year is on my marathons, and I’m confident at this point that I can at least finish a sprint triathlon, I’m not as worried about my swimming and cycling as I would be otherwise.
