Weekly Update – February 18, 2012

This week has been a big week! I booked my tickets to Vegas, it was week three of Half Ironman training, and I finally shook a couple more pounds – score!! Plus… all my work pants fit again!

Week 3 on Paleo went great. I did go off plan on Saturday, having a toasted English muffin for breakfast (I’d been craving that for days!), and some Yorkshire pudding with dinner. But I’m satisfied that significantly reducing my carbs is not hurting my performance, and is forcing me to eat better, cleaner food choices. Over the next few weeks I’m going to add back in some carbs, but I will probably still eat more protein and good fats than before. So long as my weight stays stable or continues to slowly decline, I’m happy.

I skipped one swim workout this week – after working nights, I woke up late feeling tired and groggy, so I didn’t swim, but I did get my run in that day, and had a terrific run – I figured it was a good trade off.

Goals update: I had a lot of goals to get done this weekend, but the weekend isn’t over. I’m doing good so far – I ran, I rode, I’ve written 1 complete blog post and parts of 3 others, I’ve read a little and I’m making progress on the scary, scary kitchen drawer. I sorted out my questions related to Adsense and Amazon, and I’ve even read a little bit. I think I’ll get it all done by Monday. 🙂 Even so, I still have a few additional goals for today!

Today’s goals:

1. 60 minute run
2. Bake cookies
3. Help son bake cake
