Weekly Update – February 3, 2013

Things seem to be taking on some form of normal… I work too much, don’t sleep enough, and battle to get in all my workouts, but I’m doing what I can. I did manage to delegate a bunch of housework I normally do to Bruce & the boys – Bruce took the laundry (which he normally does about 50% of the time anyway), and Bruce & our oldest did some significant vegetable prep on Sunday, allowing me to get some additional work done. Teamwork!

Hot Yoga

No hot yoga this week.

Weight Training

No weight training.

Decent week all around – training is picking up, and other than my runs, I feel like I’m doing OK. I’m struggling to feel good while running – even when I start out well, by mid way in I’m running out of juice and losing speed and energy. I definitely need to figure that out – good thing I have 4 months until my first marathon.

Are you tracking what you’re eating before your runs? Maybe you need a bit of an energy boost? Sounds like things are really busy with you. I’m sure a bit of extra rest/sleep will help too.
Good luck with your training this week! :)

I know my long runs are affected by my morning meal – I have to rework my nutrition for eating before I run. My night runs are a combination of what I eat, and how tired I am from work. I have time to figure it out, but I need to solve it!
