Weekly Update – July 23, 2012

I skipped posting last week because we were on the road back from Racine, so this week will be a two week wrap up.

Even though we’re working on cleaning up our nutrition and reducing body fat, I’m still only weighing in once a month, so no weigh in this week. I can say that I am back in the range that I should be in after retaining water for a few days after Racine.

Hot Yoga

No yoga this week.

Weight Training

No weight training this week.

It has been a busy two weeks! And so satisfying. 🙂 I have noticed that I really need to get to either a massage therapist or to hot yoga to try to stretch out my calves, but other than that, I’m doing OK 1 week post Ironman 70.3.

Goals update: Other than taking an extended weekend (1 extra day… not so bad!) I actually got so much done this weekend, even though I worked. I went to the Slash concert – it was SO GOOD! Plus I ran twice, I swam, and I even fit in a short bike ride. I didn’t read any nutrition, but read multiple chapters of a career book instead, which helped me make up my mind about the job. 🙂 Finally, I did work on blog posts, but did not finish four of them – I just got writers block.

Today’s goals:

1. Run workout
2. Lunch with Bruce
3. Finish 2 blog posts
4. Calculate financial impact of new job

    I’m having tight calf muscles too and just decided this morning that I’m definitely going back to hot yoga tomorrow. I had a long run on Sunday, and they were tight on Monday, and then I had mid-distance this morning and now they’re even tighter. Might take an extra rest day tomorrow morning, but tomorrow night it’s back to that sweaty room for me!!

      My calves ahve been so tight lately, rolling has helped, but I know yoga is what I need. Now to make time for it!
