This is an 8 week challenge whereby we set ourselves five SMART goals and take part in Weekly Challenges. We then check in weekly and link up with our results.
I’m combining my weekly updates with my weekly Get Fit Feel Epic posts because a) they both are meant to appear on Mondays, and b) they cover a lot of the same ground, so there’s no point repeating myself.
Life has been hectic since I took on my new job. The good news? I really like it. And the decision to give up some things in order to reclaim my life (shutting down my second blog, blogging less here, etc.) has meant I have been able to read, to crochet, and to work out… and still sleep, spend some face time with the family, and generally enjoy my life. I think I’m finding balance…
The scale sucks. I mean, seriously. OK, really, my eating has sucked, but the scale isn’t helping. I weighed 144.3 this morning. I still haven’t done my body fat, BMI, etc., but I’m accepting that this weight must be close to accurate – it’s been in that area for too long to be a fluke. 😛 Ah well, I’ll figure it out.

I’ve started P90X which seems to combine weight training with stretching, so I’ll record those sessions here.
No P90X this week.
Well after rocking my training last week, i was just exhausted this week! Some additional family stress on Saturday (all is not perfect, but it’s better) added to my issues. Sigh… but I’m back at it now.
Now to update Get Fit Feel Epic! How did I do for Week 6? I seem to be staying on track, so that’s awesome. Not doing so great at the challenges, but I’m at least hitting my goals and hitting my workouts!
1. Average 2 swim workouts per week? This is getting a little boring… yup 2 again.
2. Average 3 run workouts per week? Missed one again last week – I’ll have to make it up this week.
3. Swim at least 30 km total? I’m going to kill this one! 🙂 I did my longest swim ever, 3200m (2 miles!!) this week. Week total was 4.2 km. Now I only have one 3km swim left.
4. Set a new PR? Running has been hard and slow lately – I’m not sure if this is going to happen or not, but race day is next Saturday!
5. Average 7 workouts per week? Only 6 this week, but I had more than enough last week to cover the missing one.
The Week 6 challenge was to do pushups… so didn’t happen. It was just not a good week to accomplish this for me!
This week’s challenge is another one I will struggle with, but I really am going to try. We are to take 10 different photos – a self portrait after a workout, a photo of where we sleep, our favourite movie, a piece of fitness equipment, and a few more. Bruce & I were just talking about needing to take more pictures, so this week I commit to actually trying to do this!
As for everything else… I was driving home from work yesterday and realized, I actually wanted to write a blog post – the first time in a few weeks. So obviously the break has been good. I can’t promise I’ll be back to blogging several times a week, but I’ll try to blog more than once a week!
