Rebecca from Weight Wars is hosting yet another lovely challenge; this one has a fabulous prize attached to it too (a Fit Bit Wireless Activity Monitor). This is an 8 week challenge whereby we set ourselves five SMART goals and take part in Weekly Challenges. We then check in weekly and link up with our results.
I’m combining my weekly updates with my weekly Get Fit Feel Epic posts because a) they both are meant to appear on Mondays, and b) they cover a lot of the same ground, so there’s no point repeating myself.
Happy Thanksgiving to any Canadians out there! This year I have lots of things to be thankful for. 🙂 I’m healthy, and happy, and so is my family. My parents were here all weekend – I’m thankful they are still healthy and able to be here with us! And I’m able to pursue the things in life I’m interested in and passionate about – life is good.
OK, I still have been avoiding the scale – I get on it, the numbers seems stuck around 145 (WTH!!!), and I’m not sure how I’m going to get it moving again, but I haven’t done an official weigh in with all my stats, so no real update. But I had a rocking training week!

No yoga this week
I’ve started P90X which seems to combine weight training with stretching, so I’ll record those sessions here.
2012/10/01 – Session 7, Week 2 (stretching, about 30 minutes)
2012/10/04 – Session 1, Week 3 (chest & back (push-ups and pull ups), about an hour)
2012/10/06 – Session 2, Week 3 (Plyometrics (lunges & squats), about 45 minutes)
I really ramped my training back up this week, and it feels good to be back at it.
Now to update Get Fit Feel Epic! How did I do for Week 5? I seem to be staying on track, so that’s awesome. Not doing so great at the challenges, but I’m at least hitting my goals and hitting my workouts!
1. Average 2 swim workouts per week? This is getting a little boring… yup 2 again.
2. Average 3 run workouts per week? Yes! I even made up the one I missed last week. Short, but done.
3. Swim at least 30 km total? Again, made up some of my lost distance by knocking out 2500m in one swim. Week total was 4.5 km. Still need to get two 3km swims in – timing is making this one tough.
4. Set a new PR? I’m still working on this – yesterday’s long run was painful, but I think it was just a culmination of too much training this week.
5. Average 7 workouts per week? Hmmmm…. how does 12 sound? Yep, I think I’m good. 🙂
The Week 5 challenge was to make a game out of your favourite TV show… sadly, I really don’t watch much TV anymore, so I didn’t manage to make this one happen.
Week 6’s challenge has to do with push-ups. I hate push up – I mean, I really, really hate them. the fact that one of the P90X workouts is pretty much nothing put push-ups sucks… I do it anyway, but I hate ’em. So I don’t know how well I’m going to do on this one. I’ll try… that’s all I can promise.
Still struggling to find balance in my life right now, so no goals again. I will say although I’m spending a lot of time working, and a lot working out… I’m also taking time to read, research training, crochet, and more. It’s been good so far. 🙂
