Rebecca from Weight Wars is hosting yet another lovely challenge; this one has a fabulous prize attached to it too (a Fit Bit Wireless Activity Monitor). This is an 8 week challenge whereby we set ourselves five SMART goals and take part in Weekly Challenges. We then check in weekly and link up with our results.
I’m combining my weekly updates with my weekly Get Fit Feel Epic posts because a) they both are meant to appear on Mondays, and b) they cover a lot of the same ground, so there’s no point repeating myself.
On to the weekly update! Busy, busy week. I started my new job on Tuesday, and it’s going well. (Better than another person who started this week – she quit already!) I’ve also been working out like a mad woman, although I’ve come to some decisions about P90X and triathlon/running training, which I’ll post about another day. Oh, and did I mention we signed up for a full Ironman? Because life wasn’t crazy enough. 😉
No weigh in this week, that will come in 2 weeks.

I’ve started P90X which seems to combine weight training with stretching, so I’ll record those sessions here.
2012/09/06 – Session 5 (upper body, about an hour)
2012/09/07 – Session 6 (kickboxing, mainly lower body, about an hour)
2012/09/08 – Session 7 (stretching, about an hour)
2012/09/09 – Session 1, Week 2 (Upper body, almost an hour)
Aside from working, Zack had a birthday party on Saturday, and I cooked all day Sunday, so that ate a bunch of time. I need a housekeeper who cooks, and to only work half time. In my dreams…
Now to update Get Fit Feel Epic! How did I do for Week 2? I’m clicking along nicely, actually.
1. Average 2 swim workouts per week? Check. 2 done.
2. Average 3 run workouts per week? Check. 3 done, including hills.
3. Swim at least 30 km total? This one wasn’t as good – I only did 2.5 km this week. Will have to do more.
4. Set a new PR? Well, I did hills this week, and I worked on running faster. My long run and steady run felt pretty good, so I think I’m getting faster.
5. Average 7 workouts per week? Nailed it again! I did 9. 🙂
This week’s challenge was to create a visual reminder of our goals, and I combined my fitness goals with a few life goals and came up with this:
As for the week 3 challenge, it is to do a workout of 10 burpees, 20 squats and 30 pushups, 3 rounds of each set, for time. I’ll be honest. I’m not going to do it. I’m already doing P90X and disliking it a fair bit. I really, really hate pushups and did over 100 on Saturday. As for burpees…
So I’ll keep doing my thing, and wish everyone well who is trying this week’s challenge!
Goals update: I set reasonable goals for the weekend because I knew it would be busy. Cook something? Yes, soup, and a couple of new things that will appear on the blog in the future. Long run? You bet. Menu plan? Mostly. And blog posts? I worked on a bunch. I think I’m ready for the week ahead.
1. P90X workout
2. Second workout (this is a big maybe)
3. Organize for garage sale (30 minutes)
