Rebecca from Weight Wars is hosting yet another lovely challenge; this one has a fabulous prize attached to it too (a Fit Bit Wireless Activity Monitor). This is an 8 week challenge whereby we set ourselves five SMART goals and take part in Weekly Challenges. We then check in weekly and link up with our results.
I’m combining my weekly updates with my weekly Get Fit Feel Epic posts because a) they both are meant to appear on Mondays, and b) they cover a lot of the same ground, so there’s no point repeating myself.
Wow – my second week at my new job is done, and I’m feeling just swamped. Still really like it, just so busy! I’m running behind in so many things, but I’ve made some decisions that help with that, including some blog related choices. I’ll be temporarily suspending my other blog, and probably blogging a little less on this one for a while. The good news? I spent time with Bruce & the kids this weekend and really relaxed. That was awesome.

I’ve started P90X which seems to combine weight training with stretching, so I’ll record those sessions here.

2012/09/23 – Session 4, Week 2 (yoga, about an hour)
All in all, a decent week on the workout front!
Now to update Get Fit Feel Epic! How did I do for Week 3? Things are still going pretty well!
1. Average 2 swim workouts per week? Check. 2 done again.
2. Average 3 run workouts per week? Check. 3 done, including hills.
3. Swim at least 30 km total? Not quite on target here – I did 2.8 km this week. My shoulders were aching from P90X, making it difficult to even do 1200 on Tuesday. No excuse, that just means I have to get in another workout at some point!
4. Set a new PR? I’m definitely getting faster, I had a super fast tempo run this week. Setting a new PR? It’s still a guessing game.
5. Average 7 workouts per week? I did 9 again this week – and I even took one complete rest day! Whoo hoo. 🙂
The week 3 challenge, was to do a workout of 10 burpees, 20 squats and 30 pushups, 3 rounds of each set, for time. I said I wasn’t going to, and I didn’t. I did my P90X instead. This week, for Week 4, we are to try something new… go outside our comfort zone. I’m going to have to think about that one. Somehow, I often feel like I’m outside my comfort zone! 🙂
Goals update: My daily goals have been slipping, a lot. I’m going to have to figure out how to stay on top of them. I still think setting them is important, I’m just not sure how it’s going to work, especially since I plan on blogging less, which means less accountability.
